Introducing our new Colossal Beer Soap!

Colossal Beer Soap - Flower City Soap Company

I've read a lot about beer soap, the benefits of the hops, the rich lather that it can produce, etc. over the past few years and I've finally made some and I've got to say that I'm in LOVE with this new beer soap! It IS super creamy, has beautiful lather, great texture and, unscented you can really smell the hops, which has a lovely, soft, oatmeal kind of scent. What's not to love?!

Why BEER soap, you ask? Well, there are many reasons. Beer is rich in antioxidants, minerals, amino acids (from the hops) and vitamins (a healthy serving of Vitamin B, riboflavin and biotin) and because the alcohol is completely removed from the beer before adding to our cold process soap batch (I can hear the tears of great beer lovers now! LOL!), there is nothing in it that can dry your skin, but rather, it leaves your skin soft and hydrated. The brewer's yeast in beer is actually a great antibacterial agent as well!

My new Colossal Beer Soap is not only fantastic for your skin, it is great for your hair and the wonderful lather is perfect for shaving, without leaving the skin tight and dry!

Because of the antibacterial qualities in beer soap, it is also touted as an excellent soap for helping to clear up acne, skin irritation and redness.

I am so looking forward to trying different essential oil blends such as Sweet Orange, Bergamot, Lavender and more! The combinations are endless!

I hope you are having a fantabulous day and I hope you give my new Colossal Beer Soap a try soon!

Authentic African Black Soap
What is African Black Soap and why is it so popular

African Black Soap is often just referred to as Black Soap, even though it isn’t always black. It can also be found under different names such as Anago or Yoruba Soaps, depending on the region that it’s made in. It can be in shades of brown and has bits and pieces of plants and dried peels, which give it a scrub type of texture. Like the name suggests, it is made in Africa, and the best kind to purchase is Fair Trade African Black Soap because it helps to ensure that proceeds from the product actually go back to help support the communities that make the soap.

How Scents Affect Us and Trigger Memories

Humankind has known since the beginning of time that aromas can directly affect us in many different ways. The enchanting aroma of a sweet flower can lift and calm our moods, while the intense aroma of peppermint or spearmint can refresh and invigorate us. Fragrances and memory have a direct connection as well. Sometimes a certain scent will instantly remind us of a place, time or person.
